{"id":1301,"date":"2025-10-07T14:27:30","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T14:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.soundhealingspirit.com\/?p=1301"},"modified":"2026-09-10T22:39:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T22:39:09","slug":"where-breath-and-sound-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.soundhealingspirit.com\/?p=1301","title":{"rendered":"Where Breath and Sound Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Six Breaths with Sound<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>A simple practice that brings breath, sound, and attention together for a few moments.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">This practice takes only six breaths, so it is something you can return to anytime during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sound as Guide<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">A singing bowl produces a slow, sustained sound with rich overtones that can encourage slower breathing and gently draw our attention into the present. Unlike verbal instructions such as \u201crelax\u201d or \u201clet go,\u201d sound does not ask us to do anything. We can simply listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">Instead of trying to force stillness, notice whether your breath naturally slows or deepens as the sound rises and fades. Arrive<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">Sit comfortably with your bowl in front of you.<br>Take an easy breath and notice the sounds around you, both near and far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Sound the Bowl<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">Tap the bowl once and listen as the sound rises and fades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.soundhealingspirit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/freesound_community-bell-bowl-g-ish-74001.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\"><em>This recording is one strike of the bowl, sustained long enough for two slow breaths.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Breathe with the Sound<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">As you breathe in and out, listen to the changing sound of the bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:19px\">Continue for six breaths, sounding the bowl again as needed. If it feels right, pause for a moment of silence between soundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.
