Sunflower Festival, Abbotsford, B.C. —
photographed shortly after a meaningful health turning point.
I’ve always loved sunflowers and have been fascinated by the way young ones follow the light — simply trusting it will be there and turning toward it. As young children, we naturally turn toward what feels alive and true — toward the light. Over time, that clarity can fade. Expectations form, and the light can become harder to see.
I once read that when a sunflower is physically constrained and unable to move freely, it develops less fully and grows smaller overall. That image stayed with me.
Looking back, I can see ways I became like a sunflower held in one direction — shaped more by expectation than by inner knowing. Learning to sense the difference has been gradual, a quiet process of listening and gently reorienting. This website is one expression of that turning.
You’ll see the sunflower logo on every page of this site. For me, it’s a quiet reminder: to stay oriented toward what brings light — and to trust that direction, even when it unfolds slowly and isn’t easy.
